We are looking for a Fixtures Secretary.
Due to a change of role at work Peter Stewart has had to step down from his role as Fixtures Secretary.
This is an important position in the Club and Peter brought great enthusiasm to the role along with excellent organisational
skill and commitment.

The Fixtures Secretary role is defined below;
Position: The holder may be a Committee member elected at the AGM or a person nominated by the Committee as a non-committee member.
Accountability: The Fixtures Secretary is accountable to the members and the Committee.
Lead the annual SOC fixtures group meeting to develop a programme of SOC events consistent with the lead times set out in BOF Rules.
Represent SOC at the annual SCOA fixtures meetings to agree the programme of events of Level C and above.
Maintain British Orienteering (BO) on-line fixtures registration system for SOC events.
Maintain fixture lists and event related information on SOC website.
Plan the development of future officials in line with BOF requirements to ensure that SOC can continue to provide officials for events at all levels.
Ensure all officials have attended event safety training (mandatory from January 2017)
Recruit officials for SOC events.
Propose officials to SOC committee for approval, for events at Level B and above.
Liaise with SOC Permissions Officer to obtain landowners' permission.
Provide a point of contact for all event related queries.
Provide vouchers for free entry at a similar or lower level event to Controllers, Planners and Organisers in recognition of their efforts.
Objectives: To manage a programme of events and activities and recruit the main officials (Organisers, Planners and Controllers / Mentors) needed to support the events.
Competencies:. The holder should have good interpersonal and organisational skills.
