A BIG THANK YOU
Normally the organiser thanks the helpers after the event, which if it doesn't go to plan I will do. But I thought you should all know that over thirty people have offered to help, with some doing two roles; your assistance is greatly appreciated and I wish you all a carefree day and a good run.
A big THANK YOU to all those who helped, in terrible conditions
Many thanks to one and all for volunteering and making my job easier, whilst the planner rightly gets the plaudits from the competitors, you should bask in the glory of knowing that without you the event would not have happened.
A special thanks go to Julian, for being in the right place at the right time and bringing back, to the event centre, two competitors of concern, to everyone's relief a search was not required.
Thanks also go to Pete for his considerable help in publishing event details and doing all that Racesignup stuff for me.
Finally, to Alastair who provided considerable guidance on the art of organising an event.
If you are pondering what is so difficult about being the organiser, given that I just walked around all day, consider the spectacle of one person putting up the tents to dry and then trying to fold them down and get them into their bags.(thankfully there were no camera's or tiktok around).
See you at the next event
Once again, many thanks
Iain
