Directions: O signs from the junction (roundabout) of A326 (M27 junction 2 to Fawley) and B3054 (Beaulieu Road) at GR SU410059. From the roundabout turn west on B3054, after approximately 500m turn right onto forest entrance track.

New Permanent Orienteering Course

Firstly I would like to thank all those involved with the setting up and launch of the permanent orienteering course on Southampton Common, on Saturday 20th June. A lot of hard work was put in prior to the event particularly by Jean Velecky, ably supported by Gill Thomlinson and Philip Eeles. Secondly, thanks to Lin Hand and Andy Welch at the Hawthorn Centre and to Jon Dyer-Slade, Head of Neighbourhood Services at Southampton Council who kindly agreed to open it. Then proceeded to run around the medium course and come back in the afternoon to take his children around as well! There were an number of club members who came to help and run - thanks.

Radio Solent
