Terrain is open heathland and runnable woodland.  The woodland areas are linked by a network of forest tracks and rides around uncrossable marshes. Start: Punching start (turn up and run).  Start and Finish are both close to the event centre.

Full leg cover must be worn.  Whistles should be carried.  In adverse weather we may ask you to wear a cagoule or similar waterproof top.

Please be aware of the risk of ticks and Lymes disease.  The area is grazed by ponies and cattle: do not approach or feed them. Dog walkers and horse riders also use the area, so please be respectful and cautious around their animals.  Overhead power-lines are to the North-East of the event centre – please avoid erecting poles, flying kites or similar near these, and ensure that children observe the same caution.

Dogs should be kept under control and on a lead when necessary
