BBC Countryfile - Winchester City Mill

Profile picture for user Colin Hicks
By Colin Hicks , 9 April, 2011

Some of our members may know that David Bonser is a volunteer miller at the National Trust's Winchester City Mill, (http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/main/w-winchestercitymill) where the volunteers put on a year long series of milling and baking demonstrations.  This weekend the volunteers should have their few minutes of fame in that the River Itchen is a major feature in this Sunday's (Apr 10) Countryfile programme on BBC1 at 7 pm and the volunteers are anticipating a reasonable coverage of the mill in operation and their otter watch project. David suggests we will be relieved to know that although he was there for the filming and was operating the mill, it is highly unlikely that any footage of him will be seen! The presenter Ellie and David's somewhat younger colleague Ric are the stars.Of interest to know what our members do when not wearing "O" kit.
