Compass Sport Trophy Final

The Compass Sport magazine has published a date for the Compass Sport Trophy Final. The Final for the 2020 event is scheduled to  take place at Chatsworth in the Peak District on 17th October 2021.

There are no cast iron guarantees that this event will take place but given that a vaccination programme is about to start, we can certainly hope that things will have improved sufficiently by then for this event to be a real possibility.

For those that are new to the Compass Sport event, we need as many SOC members to take part as possible, as  long as you are able to complete a course at technical difficulty 5. Juniors competing at M/W14-(orange)  and M/W18-(green) will be particularly welcome.

Chatsworth looks like a very attractive, if rather undulating area. Please see the routegadget  link below for a look at the map of the 2018 JIRCS competition in 2018.

The area is described as beautiful, combining heather-covered moorland, coniferous plantation, a steep escarpment and an ornamental ruined aqueduct!

Please put the date in your diary. If anyone has run at Chatsworth that would be good to know. Contact me on helenamandaaa [at] gmail.com (helenamandaaa[at]gmail[dot]com) if you would like further information or some help on progressing from orange to green level.

PS: Does anyone know the control description for an ornamental ruined aqueduct?

Happy New Year
