JK 2022 individual results
The Easter orienteering extravaganza that is the JK kicked off on Friday with a sprint event at Swansea University. There were only four SOC runners with Philip Eeles topping the billing with a 5th place on M65.
Numbers swelled for the middle distance race at Clydach Terrace on Saturday. This was a technical area with old mine workings covered in tussocks that also made the going tough. Top ten places went to: David Currie (8th on M45L), Philip Eeles (10th on M65L), Anya Crocker (1st on W35S), Christine Currie (7th on W40L), Lisa James (8th on W50L), Jane Morgan (3rd on W60L), and Di Smith (4th on W70S).
On Sunday, the action moved to Pwll Du for a long race. Although parts of the area had good running, much of it proved to be just as tough as Saturday with the addition of tall slag heaps to ascend/descend (repeatedly). Top performances were: Doug Greenwood (4th on M45S), Philip Eeles (4th on M65L), Anya Crocker (1st on W35S), Jane Morgan (4th on W60L), and Di Smith (10th on W70S).
The times from the Middle and Long are added together for an overall position. Unsurprisingly given her two performances, Anya finished first on W35S.
